FILM OPENING SHOOT DAY AND EDITING!PICTURES

Heyy guys! We're done with our shooting of our film open. We shot our film opening on 19th december, 2016.But i ll be telling you about everything that we did on our shoot day and luckily we shot everything on the first day.ME(Ramish latif) and haya mushtaq have done CAMERA WORK for FILM OPENING PORTFOLIO.I could not take alot of pictures of mine because I was really busy with camera work.Sorry for that...

(Here Sani, Rija, I and haya were explaining our actress how exactly we wanted her to act.)

So we shot our film opening on the 19th of december. and the next day we also had our exam. ;_;
But still we managed to give our 100%.
We did face a big problem on the day of the shoot that was, our actress who had to come for the shoot, went out of city without informing us and we found out we all out really worried as he had asked someone for the lights and equipment. So what happened next was that, we called our friends to act in our film opening but none of them agreed, but then luckily Sani Farshori's(My group member) agreed on doing acting in our shoot, though she also had her exam the next day.
Then the second problem which arosed was that the girl who was going to be acting in our film opening before was going to bring the costume, which she didnt, but we were lucky to find similar clothing items in our houses and by combining those clothing pieces, we made a complete costume. Also Are actress had to go home early to prep for her exam so we had to shoot quickly.

Here Sani was explaining me (Ramish latif) and Haya mushtaq that what he exactly wanted as a director from us aka as a CAMERA PERSON.

This is Rija and haya(My group members and friend) standing near the light which we turned into a blue light by placing this sheet over it. This was to create a cold and a scary environment in our film opening.

These were some of the makeup products, brushes and hair products which were used to transform our actress into looking like a ghost(devil). :P haya DID HER HAIR AND MAKEUP!

The guy in blue is Sani Farshori(The director of the film opening and there is our friend Hassam who was taking all the pictures while we were shooting so we could have proof of the shoot. The girl in Blue is ( HAYA MUSHTAQ).

:') THE CAMERA PERSON IS ME(RAMISH LATIF) AND HAYA :D YUPPIES!
And then haya is on the other side filming the end of the film opening and I'm with a blow drier at the end so that this would depict that her hair are being blown by the wind. At that time haya mushtaq was doing camera work instead of me.But unfortunately we have to cut that part  (the end).

I took this picture while filming before her makeup transformation.

Here is the complete transformed look of our actresss. You can see the use of blue lights here.

So here it is guys! OUR PROJECT IS IN ITS FINAL STAGES OF EDITING SO WILL BE POSTING THE FILM OPENING PRETTY SOON AND Also the Behind the scenes. ;)

Update:

Till then bye bye! Have a nice day.

Camera movements practice

Camera Movement
A director may choose to move the pace of action along by telling the narrative via a series of cuts, changing from one shot to another, or the camera may be moved with the action. The camera movement can draw the viewers attention to or away from something, or switch from one subject to another that appears in the same frame. E.g a tracking shot where the camera physically moves closer or further away from the subject is most commonly used to increase the drama of what is being said or done.

  • Zooming- zoom lenses are a mechanical assembly designed with elements to vary its focal length, with he ability to magnify within the frame, as opposed to a fixed focal length. The magnification process can be reversed by zooming out, creating an opening for a long/ wide shot.
  • Panning- panning involves a movement of scanning a scene/landscape from left to right (or vice versa). The tripod provides a stable axis point, allowing the sweeping motion to be free. This movement is often used to follow a character, as the camera can move, keeping the subject within the main focus of the frame, without minimising setting.
  • Tilting-where the tripod remains stationary and the camera tilts up or down. Similar to panning but with alteration in direction, this movement can be applied to create a sense of unease in the character, creating suspense or mystery.
  • Crane Shots- the crane (or jib) is a piece of equipment, size dependent on purpose. The camera is suspended and raised up according to the scene content- this effect allows horizontal and vertical movement, the location to be seen from a high angle, which can then be swept down out of the action.
  • Tracking/Dollying- both the camera and tripod are mounted on a moving vehicle or platform (complicated shots involve rails), allowing smooth movements following the action, generally following a character or object. This type of shot is often a good way of the journey of a character, or for moving from a long shot to a close-up, gradually focusing the audience on a particular object or character.
  • Handheld/ Steadicam-these cameras produce a jerky, ragged effect, in strong contrast to that of the tracking/ dolly shots. The Steadicam (a heavy contraption which is attached a camera to an operator by a harness. The camera is stabilized so it moves independently) brings smoothness to hand held camera movement. In modern filming, no "walk and talk" sequence would be complete without the use. Hand held cameras signify a kind of gritty realism, and they can draw the audience in, with the impression they are in the scene themselves, rather than viewing it in a still, set position.
Our media studies theory teacher taught us this all about camera movements in class.

Assignment 4:60 second video

60 Seconds video

For this assignment, our teacher told us to create a 60 seconds video with a powerful message.
Indeed this was a hard task keeping in mind the fact that we (my group members and I) were still amateurs.

For this assignment we (my group members and I) worked extremely hard. So much so that one of the shooting techniques we used led to our teacher regarding it as a bonus point for the video. We had to film it twice as we unable to find the footage the first time. It was directed by my team member Sani Farshori and Me (Ramish latif), Written by Rija Ahmad, and everybody had shared their ideas.
Here is the link to the video(I have shared two videos as the first one was a bit long)
